The Story of Us

Meet Matilda and Tommy, aka the team behind QV Dog Store.

Matilda is the brains and beauty of the enterprise. She is a three-year-old Bull Terrier. Tommy is her human.

When Matilda first met Tommy, during the pandemic in 2020, he was a successful barber, and she was an adorable and very high-maintenance puppy. Tommy had always dreamed of having a Bull Terrier, and his desire to give Matilda the very best life he could was the original inspiration behind QV Dog Store.

Tommy always adored animals and wanted to work with them but didn’t know quite how to make that into a career. He trained as a barber and ended up with a thriving business. But that desire to work with animals, and particularly dogs, bubbled away in the back of his mind. 

Living the Dream

Tommy realised that he didn’t want to go back to barbering, and he really wanted to enjoy more quality time with Matilda and even enrolled in a dog behaviour and training course. He researched how to give Matilda a happy, healthy lifestyle and found it hard to source the standard of products he wanted. 

So, leaving the barber’s chair behind, Tommy set up QV Dog Store, a funky, friendly store supplying high quality, sustainable and high-end foods, toys and wearables, aimed at owners who truly treat their dogs as family, just like he does.
